Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a gentle and powerful way to understand your inner psyche.  Think of it like discovering that your mind is not a single voice, but a team of different parts, each with their own thoughts, feelings, and roles. When these parts work well together, we feel calm and whole. When they don’t? That’s when we often feel stuck, conflicted, or overwhelmed.

🧠 Parts Work – Your Inner Family or Team

Imagine your mind is like a team or a family. Each member of the team—what IFS calls “parts”—has its own perspective and responsibilities:

· 🛡 Manager parts try to keep you in control, organized, and safe from harm. Think of the perfectionist, the planner, the thinker or the people-pleaser.

· 🚒 Firefighter parts jump in when things get overwhelming. They might distract you, shut things down, or push you toward quick relief—like doom-scrolling, shopping or emotional eating.

· 😢 Exile parts are the parts that carry pain from the past—like shame, fear, or heartbreak. They’re often hidden away because their feelings are hard to face.

At the core of it all is the Authentic Self—the calm, curious, and compassionate center of who you are. When you’re in touch with your Authentic Self, you can listen to your parts without judgment and help them heal.
